Ecco Freddo
desert fridge; grog clay. 35 x 3.5, 16, 20 x 35 cm
2015
Ecco Freddo is a family of modular objects; grog clay and sand. These pieces are a nod to the technique referred to as desert refrigeration, developed primarily in Northern Africa. Two walls, separated by a void, come into contact with a flow of dry of air and a source of water to cool the contents of the ceramic. Ecco Freddo therefore encourages us to consider our conservation and consumption habits of food on a daily basis. Each pot is tailored to the characteristics of different families of foods: leafy vegetables, root vegetables, and fruits.
