Left-Handed
cup; porcelain. 8 x 6 x 8 cm
2012
Left-handed is a set of cups; an off-white porcelain. We live in a world where objects are primarily conceived for right-handed use, which makes left-handed individuals especially crafty. Constantly faced with having to test their ambidexterity, these cups offer them a break, proof that no object is really just right. Left-handed’s design is asymmetrical; the handle is formed by a slight inward fold of the ceramic. The cup fits naturally into the palm of the hand, the fingertips just hitting the edge of the fold. These cups are a call for a more versatile world of objets.
